HBCU Grad Turned “Tax Docta” Makes History, Launches Franchise Opportunity for Black Entrepreneurs

by Ava Robinson

Tax Docta, a black-owned tax and financial services provider, is now releasing Royal Tax Box software, developed to help aspiring and practicing tax preparers launch and expand their own tax businesses. It was developed by Dr. Shawanda Moore, Southern University’s HBCU graduate.

Her firm, which already brings in millions of dollars each year, provides a range of financial services, including tax preparation for individuals, corporations, and non-profits, accounting and payroll tax courses, and training and resources in financial literacy.
Dr. Moore, an only child of eight, has done a fantastic job putting methods into practice that have helped her team and partners succeed. She will achieve this by imparting her expertise, experience, and access to company ownership options that can lead to financial freedom. She thinks her firm’s success has been largely due to the strong systems approach she has taken to business.

She, therefore, puts forth a lot of effort with her franchise team to reproduce the wise decisions that have proven profitable for her business and her software partners and advantageous to her clientele.

She also writes several books for kids on tax preparation and financial literacy in addition to her business endeavors. The Self-Love Journey Planner, the Small Business Records book, and the Boss Business Planner were most recently added.

A Blueprint for Establishing a Million-Dollar Business, Steps to Becoming a Millionaire, and Strategies of the P.P.P. Stage of a Business in 2024 are the three more best-practice books she is currently writing. Additionally, she keeps enhancing her already very effective financial literacy program to help people of all ages improve their financial decision-making.
