Germany’s Empion raises €6M from Cavalry Ventures, others to automate hiring with AI.

On Wednesday, October 25, the Berlin-based company Empion announced that it had received €6 million in a seed round of funding from Cavalry Ventures, Redstone VC, and VR Ventures, two of its current backers.

The company announced a year earlier in a pre-seed fundraising round that Redstone VC, Basinghall Partners, and well-known angels from the HR IT sector led.

Empion: Using AI to transform hiring

Drs. Annika von Mutius and Larissa Leitner founded Empion in 2021 as an automated professional headhunting service. Empion matches talent with firms based on skills and cultural fit by utilizing AI technology and cultural matching.

The AI-powered robot adviser calculates pertinent metrics to pair qualified employees with appropriate businesses.

The corporation claims that this increases employee loyalty to the organization and success rate. Time is saved, and the application procedure is expedited. The firm now serves a wide range of customers, such as Personio, Volksbanken, and Mazars.

Cavalry Ventures, a European early-stage venture capital firm with €260+M in assets under management, is headquartered in Berlin and focuses on the pre-seed and seed stages.

Apart from the partners’ proficiency, the portfolio firms acquire entry into a worldwide, specialized, and interdisciplinary network, including over 200 angel investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, business specialists, and numerous others.

In areas including strategy, organizational growth, product development, sales, international expansion, hiring, and marketing, they offer operational and consulting help.

More than fifty firms, including Forto, McMakler, REKKI, BRYTER, and PlanRadar, are included in the portfolio.
