The Dutch national financing and development organization Invest-NL, based in Amsterdam, announced that it had signed a guarantee agreement with InvestEU in Brussels in the presence of Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Micky Adriaansens, EU Commissioner for the Economy Paolo Gentiloni, and CEO of Invest-NL Rinke Zonneveld.
This agreement guarantees lower investment risk and provides significant openings for Dutch projects. Notably, Invest-NL was chosen as InvestEU’s initial Dutch implementation partner.
The European Commission estimates that this partnership might give Invest-NL up to €350 million in guarantees, leading to up to €750 million in investments in the Netherlands.
With the €350 million, Invest-NL hopes to provide European guarantees for businesses involved in deep tech, the energy transition, and demo plants in the upcoming years.
“Today was a significant high point in our relatively new lives. We have been the implementing partner for InvestEU in the Netherlands for more than two years. Invest-NL’s CEO, Rinke Zonneveld, writes on LinkedIn, “We are in a unique position as a national financing and development organization to mobilize even more European money and finance even more sustainable and creative projects and enterprises.
To address future social and economic issues, Invest-NL, a National Financing and Development Institution, understands the need for creative solutions and audacious investments.
Their goal is to offer funding for initiatives frequently seen as too hazardous. Unlocking more European money is one of their main goals.
“Now that we are an implementing partner of InvestEU, we can develop even more beautiful financing instruments for a sustainable and innovative Netherlands in the coming years,” continues Zonneveld.
