In 2010, Ronaldo received a B.S. in physics from MIT. Since then, he has held various positions, including consulting for pet food companies. He discovered that many of those businesses don’t create pet foods with high-quality components and a balanced diet, harming animals’ health.

Ronaldo founded his own business to produce premium pet foods using reliable products because he is a dog owner. He established PetPlate in 2017, a fresh-cooked pet food business that caters to every dog’s unique requirements. He began by biking meals to customers, but now it’s a subscription-based service that delivers individualized meal programs to pet owners’ doorsteps nationwide.

We put a lot of effort into providing people with human-grade nutrition who might not otherwise be able to buy our present, typical, freshly cooked products. We constantly consider Ronaldo’s statement to the band Because of Them, We Can.

Considering that his New York-based business is the only black-owned dog food company in the country, he emphasizes diversity. PetPlate has distributed over 15 million meals and snacks to approximately 549 dog breeds nationwide, proving the effort worthwhile.

“We’re attempting to address the issue that many pet parents resemble me exactly, and our goal is to ensure that they know there is room for them and things produced by people who look like them, which I believe is crucial. Our pets are like family to us. Now is the opportunity to express your affection via their meals.
