43-year-old African American woman Sophia Strother of Austin, Texas, built the multi-million-dollar shipping company L2E Industries out of a $10,000 investment. After partnering with Amazon, Sophia makes over $3 million annually and has 32 vehicles.
Sophia, a single mother who was once the victim of sex trafficking, has a strong desire for achievement. She went back to school and completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration after becoming a mother at the age of fifteen. She had two residences and began her entrepreneurial career with Trustworthy Consulting when she was twenty.
Sophia came across a 2018 article that attacked Amazon for not working with small companies on delivery. She was intrigued to learn that anybody could become an Amazon associate and earn anywhere from $74,000 to $3 million a year for only $10,000.
“Wait a minute, I thought to myself as I sat down and read the Amazon article. Why not me? I submitted an application for the partnership, and a year later, I was managing a multimillion dollar company. My delivery firm expanded to become a multimillion dollar enterprise in just 18 months,” she told firm Insider.
Despite her initial reservations, she chose to apply to become an Amazon Delivery Service Partner. Sophia’s application procedure took a whole year, requiring her to submit financial documentation, her résumé, and an online form. Despite her lack of experience in transportation, she highlighted her commitment to community service and her love of helping others.
She established L2E Industries, which stands for Learning to Exhale Industries, in September 2020. Utilizing a fleet of 38 blue vans named “Prime,” her crew has transported over 4 million parcels, utilizing over 80 colleagues to cover 20,000 routes throughout Central Texas. The company’s success has topped $3 million in less than three years.
Sophia’s business strategy strongly emphasizes quality, safety, and customer pleasure. Positive reviews are rewarded with cash. Not withstanding obstacles, such as a problematic quarter in 2021 brought on by a winter storm in Texas, her upbeat outlook and tactical adjustments resulted in a prosperous recovery.
Sophia now emphasizes a friendly workplace atmosphere and says she sees herself positively impacting people’s lives.
“I attempt to emulate what I wish I had throughout my corporate career years. Because of the families associated with my organization, I am driven and committed to success,” she declared.
