Digital healthcare platform Roott, located in Amsterdam, said on Friday that it had raised €600K in a pre-seed investment round. Roott seeks to give people the tools they need to manage their physical and emotional health properly.
The money is coming from Healthy. Capital, Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland, and individual investors, including Mike de Boer, the CFO of Knab Bank, and André Grimbergen, a co-founder of Albelli and the Wondr Experience.
According to Healthy Capital co-founder and managing partner Douwe Jippes, society must have entrepreneurial solutions for structural problems in healthcare. With our funding, knowledge, and network, we firmly support Roott’s mission to provide accessible and affordable mental health treatment.
“Roott is developing an innovative digital matching platform that connects care seekers with qualified healthcare professionals,” continues Wouter Keij, Fund Manager of Innovations Noord-Holland.
“A successful treatment trajectory is more likely if data is used for matching more sophisticatedly. Thus, Roott is significantly improving mental healthcare in the Netherlands.
“Treatment that actually satisfies your needs”
With 1.3 million people seeking treatment a year, over half of the Dutch population struggles with mental health issues, which Roott addresses. The platform addresses the problem of identifying appropriate mental health care providers by providing access to a screened network of top specialists.
To guarantee quality treatment, each practitioner goes through a thorough screening process. Roott strongly focuses on the value of a personal connection and pairs clients with therapists who are appropriate for their requirements.
If the fit isn’t perfect, the platform makes it simple for patients to switch to another therapist, improving their entire experience with mental healthcare. By linking consumers with skilled care providers, paid and non-reimbursed, Roott aspires to democratize mental healthcare. Roott emphasizes efficacy and quality while acknowledging the shortcomings of the insured care system.
